Hello!
Thanks for stopping by! I write fiction and nonfiction for children and their caregivers. My education is in physics, so I'm interested in STEM topics, but I also love exploring childhood and families. Find my books for children here. My writing has also appeared in several national magazines, including Highlights, Fostering Families Today, and MUSE.
Writing Projects
Middle Grade Fiction
My middle grade novel, Brave Bird at Wounded Knee, tells the story of a girl who is drawn into the deadly1973 standoff between American Indian Movement and Oglala Lakota protestors and government forces. Published by Jolly Fish Press, it is part of the "I Am America" series.
Nonfiction for Young Readers
I have authored five nonfiction books for elementary and middle school readres on topics including the great Pacific garbage patch, nuclear disasters, and goddesses of world muythology.
Magazine Features
More than three dozen of my magazine features, primarily on STEM and parenting topics, have appeared in publications such as Highlights, MUSE, Smore, and Fostering Famlies Today.
